Too many Canadian students – 1 in 5 to be exact – are at risk of going to school hungry in Canada, every day. To bring attention to the problem and to make a difference in the lives of students across Canada, Breakfast Club of Canada has been nourishing students’ potential for the past 20 years by making sure as many of them as possible have access to a healthy morning meal before school.
To support the cause, Minute Maid has partnered with Breakfast Club of Canada to bring Minute Maid Breakfast Day in Canada to life. I’m proud to share that tomorrow is Breakfast Day in Canada and I’ve partnered with Minute Maid to help spread the word. The day represents a national initiative to raise awareness of the importance of a well-balanced breakfast. For the past 16 years, Minute Maid has been a proud sponsor of Breakfast Club of Canada, providing 100% Orange Juice to over 160,000 students at 1,455 clubs across Canada.
Breakfast has always been one of the most important meals of the day for me, and for my family. Ever since I was a young student, I quickly learned the importance of eating a healthy early morning meal. I made sure to instill these healthy habits into my children’s lives. Breakfast gives you the energy to start your day off right and personally, I’ve noticed a significant change in mood and focus in my children when they are hungry versus when they are well nourished — mornings are a lot more pleasant when they are well-fed!
As a busy mom, mornings are often the most stressful time of the day for me. My children wake up hungry and breakfast is always the first thing on their mind. I found that making a plan alleviates morning stress and having some really easy recipes and tips on hand can save the day so you can ensure your kids are sent to school well-fed and ready to take on their days. Look out for my post tomorrow where I’ll share my 7 healthy and simple breakfast hacks – they’re sure to make your life a lot easier! I know they’ve helped me in a big way!
I will also be spreading the word on CHUM FM and CHCH tomorrow – I would love for you to tune-in!
Every $1 raised by Breakfast Club of Canada provides a breakfast for a student. Canadians can get involved by donating to a Breakfast Club, volunteering with a Club or starting a new Club in their community.
