Banana Bourbon Syrup

This banana bourbon syrup is a wonderful addition to Belgium waffles and pancakes.


  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) butter
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup (80 mL) water
  • 2 Tbsp bourbon
  • 2 bananas, sliced


  1. Slice bananas. Add butter and brown sugar to a deep skillet. Cook for about 3 minutes until the sugar is melted. Add bananas and bourbon. Cook until bananas are softened and caramelized, about 5-8 minutes.
  2. Serve banana bourbon syrup as a topping to Belgium waffles.
