Welcome to the Daily Tiramisu!

My name is Julie Miguel and I am a freelance recipe developer, food stylist and food blogger with a passion for inspired and healthy recipes as well as beautiful food styling and food photography. Through this blog you will see my recipes that I have developed. My mission is to empower home cooks to create wholesome recipes from scratch. Being a working mother is hard so my way of making life easier is to create these easy, healthy and budget friendly recipes and share them with you all!
Here is a little bit of background info about me should you wonder how I began my food journey. My interest in cooking began at a very young age. I would sit up on the counter next to my mother and watch her cook and ask many questions. I loved learning about cooking and food. After the tragic passing of my mother when I was just a teenager, I took on the responsibility of cooking for my entire family. Now, cooking is more than a proud inheritance – it’s my life! I am not a trained chef, however, I am home cook with a ton of real life experience. I am also a proud mother to two of the coolest and hungriest little men and we call Toronto our home.
I placed 7th (lucky number 7?) on the inaugural season (2014) of CTV’s MasterChef Canada. Since then, I started this blog, made numerous appearances on my favourite show The Marilyn Denis Show, taught culinary classes in Toronto and Vaughan and attended many foodie events as a guest chef and celebrity home cook!

Currently I am a cooking Expert on City TV’s Cityline hosted by Tracy Moore. I have had a busy few years! To sum things up, I spent a lot of time in the kitchen throughout my life and I want that commitment to build into something special.
